Live Tunes I really like

Her’s…

RIP. I’m very upset these two were taken from us. Even though in two albums they captivated many, I can’t help but think about what more they would have done

I liked this before the movie came out…

I remember in the theater thinking about this video when this scene happens and being excited how I recognized that Edward Norton is wearing the same outfit that Pete Seeger wore.

Jangly teenagers

I really like Snail Mail’s early songs and Lush. I think Valentine is has its tracks but does not leave the same inspiring feeling of seeing a young, innocent phenom do her thing.

This whole concert is sick. Oh to be there, witnessing the early days of Led Zeppelin, no sounds effects, just raw performance and bravado.

Obviously live mixed with studio recording, but I love Royel Otis, and I have to admit I’ve watched this music video a gazzilion times

In my opinion, this is the best Tiny Desk Concert there is. Yes, there are a lot of great ones, (yes, Mac Miller’s is one of them) but this is the best. The quality of the sound and of the overall musical performance is incredible, other bands don’t sound as good live as they do recorded or they can’t pull off the Tiny Desk performance.Tiger’s Blood and the recognition it has received is the true embodiment of grit, sticking with it, being patient, working hard, and developing your craft. If you watch Waxahatchee’s first Tiny Desk concert, it’s just her, she looks quite different, and it seems like she’s a novice trying to become a professional music artist. How ever many years later, she’s achieved mastery. I get the feeling she’s just doing her thing, singing and playing her music; she’s not performing for others.

I’m becoming enraptured by Fontaines D.C., and while when I first listened to I Love You I didn’t think too much of it, I’ve become captivated by its message after learning about it’s true meaning. It’s about how the Irish band feels conflicted and let down by their country in their youth. “You opened the window, never opened up the door” depicts the ‘raised to emigrate’ mindset they have due to the lack of opportunity in Ireland. It’s inspiring, realizing how music can be an avenue to convey what you have to say and how you feel.
